I recently did a few new purée mixes this week. I tried Spinach and butternut squash for the first time. I really like how the butternut squash came out! so colorful and she seemed to really like it! I also meant to keep a pear and an apple but ended up using them all to make her breakfast. So I pulled out some that I had already made.
Purée mixes
Sweet potato, spinach and apple
Sweet potato, zucchini and pear
Butternut squash, spinach and pear
Butternut squash, zucchini and apple
Sweet potato, spinach and apple:
1 whole sweet potato
1 cup spinach
2oz apple 1oz formula or breast milk
-Make sure you to peal, cut and steam the sweet potatoes before blending everything together.
Sweet potato, Zucchini and pear:
1 whole sweet potato
Half a zucchini
2oz pear
1oz formula or breast milk
-Again peal, cut and steam the sweet potato before blending it all together
Butternut squash, spinach and pear:
Half of a butternut squash-make sure to scrape the seeds and guts out! If your like me and never ever opened or eaten butternut squash before then you’ll be surprised to find out it’s like a pumpkin inside! haha I feel so dumb for even admitting to that but for real. I really was not expecting that so when I cut it open I was like “Oh wow! uhhh okay!” 1 cup spinach
2oz pear
1oz formula or breast milk
-Much like the sweet potato, peal, cut and steam the butternut squash as well before blending it all together
Butternut squash, zucchini and apple:
Using the other half of the squash
The other half of the zucchini
2oz apple
1oz formula or breast milk
-Same thing, peal, cut and steam the squash then blend everything together
Sometimes I will add a dash of onion powder to it when I’m about to give it to her. So far she’s loved all these mixes!
Should be a few weeks before my next baby food haul! in the meantime stay safe!
